Sr. Georgette Sidbewendin Sawadogo, SDD

“As a sister and a woman, we know what it means to rise while carrying pain, pressure, and expectation of the community we serve…Never apologize for taking up room in this world, because there is a room for you. Look for it, occupy it. One day you will look back like me and realize [this program] was the moment you began becoming the sister, and the woman, you were always meant to be.”

Sr. Georgette Sidbewendin Sawadogo, SDD

Sr. Evelyn Otchere-Boateng, SIJ

“The program has helped me identify my real call within the education sector, and it is transforming me to be a better person, and also challenge myself that there is nothing I want to be that I can’t….I want to encourage young girls that nothing can limit you”

Sr. Evelyn Otchere-Boateng, SIJ

Sr. Monica Yahaya, MSPP

“I did not dream of getting this opportunity. Because of Georgetown, the Berkley Center and the Women Faith Leaders Fellowship, it will help me with confidence and exposure.”

Sr. Monica Yahaya, MSPP

Sr. Callista Tetteh, CSC

“I’ve really learned a lot, especially in the development world…I’m a lawyer, so how do I translate that encounter with my client into stories that inspire? That is what I have learned in the program.”

Sr. Callista Tetteh, CSC

Sr. Blandina Kori, SSJ

“When I visited Geneva, my expectations were that I would have people with which to talk about my capstone and how to help girls. But I also realized that…the people in the international organizations, those that are in charge, know very little about what is happening in the grassroots. Because of this training I had with the Women Faith Leaders Fellowship, I feel empowered. I am ready to make sure this information reaches these offices from the grassroots.”

Sr. Blandina Kori, SSJ

Sr. Denisia Ijeoma Okonkwo, DMMM

“The Women Faith Leaders Fellowship program will shape you; it will mold you to always stand up for justice, to say yes when there’s need, and to not stand in your shadow. If you don’t speak, your voice will not be heard.”

Sr. Denesia Ijeoma Okonkwo, DMMM

Sr. Stephany Ayomah, SMI

“I feel that my congregation has a lot of activities where we are not visible, especially on platforms like social media, we are not visible. This program has been an opportunity for me to learn this and work toward making our ministry more visible.”

Sr. Stephany Ayomah, SMI

Sr. Ekaete Ekop, MMM

“One thing that changed for me is I value more what I am doing on the grassroots. [This program] helped me to appreciate what I am doing better. I’m going back feeling really empowered—I wish every sister who has an opportunity to work with women and girls can do this. I do this work for the congregation, for myself, for the women and for the world.”
