Women Faith Leaders Fellowship - Georgetown University

In a recent National Catholic Reporter article, Sr. Francisca Ngozi Uti, HHCJ, director of the Centre for Women Studies and Intervention in Nigeria, highlights the UN's role as a bridge between local realities and global commitments. In an interview with ACI Africa, Sr. Ngozi also called on major institutions, including the World Bank, to work directly with faith-based organizations that have long been at the forefront of humanitarian response across Africa.

The piece underscores how sisters are bringing their voices and experience to global conversations on development, equality, and interfaith collaboration. 

Santa Clara University has announced that Sister Francisca Ngozi Uti, HHCJ—a member of the 2023-2024 cohort of the Women Faith Leaders Fellowship—is the 2024 winner of the $1 million Opus Prize. Sister Jane Frances Kabagaaju, DST, and Sister Hedwig Muse, LSMIG, participated in the 2024 UN Summit of the Future. Sr. Kabagaaju spoke on a panel about maternal health issues in rural African villages and Sr. Muse gained insights for future human rights trainings. Both sisters were part of the 2023-2024 cohort of the Women Faith Leaders Fellowship.
